Prologue:
“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence– on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night, instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumour in printed, no secret is revealed “.
President John F. Kennedy

“The President and the Press”

A day may come when shadows roar,
And the hearts of men scamper in fright.
A day of chaos, and of blood and gore,
When the ancient Zeitgeist rises up in might.

A day may come when balance is extinguished,
And the soul of humanity is sorrowed and anguished.
A day fraught with apathy, greed and avarice,
When the great conspiracy reveals its darkest malice.

A day may come when liberty will perish,
An hour of doom for all that we cherish.
A day of dread and utter dismay,
But it is not this day!

This day we hold firm in our common humanity,
That bond of unity that will outlast even eternity.
This day we cast aside all forms of hate and intolerance,
And we embrace the possibility of universal consonance.

Epilogue:
“The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed – the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. …..”

Good one. Why does it feel unfinished? Like there’s more to be said on the subject.
